Options & specifications

Glass, frame colors, and the specs explained.

Every WSC window and door can be configured to your project. Here are the glass and color options — plus a plain-English guide to the technical terms so you can compare with confidence.

Glass options

Choose the glass for your space.

All impact products use laminated glass with a PVB safety interlayer. Tints and performance coatings can be added per project.

Standard

Laminated Impact Glass

A 0.090" PVB safety interlayer bonds the glass so it stays in the frame even if struck or broken — the core of every impact unit.

Clarity

Clear Glass

Maximum light and visibility — the default for bright interiors and clean sightlines.

Tinted

Bronze & Grey Tint

Reduces glare and solar heat while adding privacy — popular for sun-facing elevations.

Energy · on request

Low-E Coating

A microscopic coating that reflects heat for lower energy bills — available on request.

Privacy · on request

Obscure / Privacy Glass

Frosted or patterned glass for bathrooms and entries where privacy matters — available on request.

Plain-English glossary

The specs, explained.

No jargon — here's what the numbers on our product pages actually mean.

Impact-rated
The window or door is built and tested to withstand impact and stay intact — laminated glass holds together even if cracked, adding security and storm resistance.
HVHZ (High-Velocity Hurricane Zone)
Florida's strictest building standard for wind and impact. A product that passes HVHZ is among the toughest available anywhere in the U.S.
PSF (Design Pressure)
Pounds per square foot — how much wind pressure the unit is rated to handle, shown as positive/negative (e.g. +80 / -120). Higher numbers mean stronger performance.
Laminated glass
Two glass panes bonded to a tough plastic interlayer (PVB). If broken, the pieces stick to the interlayer instead of shattering — safer and quieter.
U-Factor / SHGC / VT (NFRC ratings)
Energy ratings: U-Factor = insulation (lower is better), SHGC = solar heat let in (lower keeps rooms cooler), VT = visible light let in (higher is brighter).
Frame depth
How deep the frame profile is. Deeper frames generally allow larger openings and higher wind-load ratings.
